Assessment
Assessment is a continuous process. Staff observe the children in a wide range of situations, looking at what they do and listening to what they say. Staff discussion and systematic record keeping aid the assessment process.
Photographs and examples of children’s work throughout the year are taken to support assessment and provide valuable information and evidence of children’s progress.
Children are encouraged to discuss their own performance in whatever tasks they are doing. Encouragement, praise and pride in achievement are valued and acknowledged as important factors in the provision of a positive learning environment.
