Children’s Mental Health Week 2021

1st – 7th February

Throughout these current challenging times it’s even more important to focus not only on our own but the mental health and wellbeing of our children. Our children need us to guide and support them through life as they become confident individuals, effective contributors, responsible citizens and successful learners. In order for them to become these they have to be happy to be who there are and appreciate themselves and others around them. Throughout the week we will offer a variety of activities and experiences to promote and develop self-awareness, resilience, independence, confidence and self-esteem.  Please share your feedback with us, feel free to email any pictures to nursery so we can add them to your child’s profile.

Monday 1st February 2021

Image – How do you really feel                 

Activities –

  1. Emoji Table – Can you identify the different feelings? Discuss with your adult about different times you may have experienced any of these feelings.
  2. Feelings Song – Ask an adult to help you learn a new song, it is to the tune of ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ so may sound familiar.

Some of you may remember the story, we’ve read it before in Nursery.Draw a picture of yourself with coloured hair, remember each colour is a different feeling. Show us how you feel?

 

Wednesday 3rd February

Thursday 4th February

Activities –

  1. Developing Independence by asking your adult if you can choose what to have for lunch (or dinner), you can even help prepare it with them.
  2. Be responsible; help out with chores around the house. You can start off by tidying away your toys after playing
